Special Prosecutor Dennis Villa-Ignacio hit Wednesday the depletion of the money deposited in the Jose Velarde account from P3.2 billion to P2,770.69.

The Sandiganbayan’s confiscation of known assets of former President Joseph Estrada will continue after lawyers for the deposed leader on Monday failed to secure a temporary restraining order against the forfeiture.In Monday’s hearing on Estrada’s motion for the junking of the writ of execution, the Sandiganbayan’s Special Division did not take any action on the request of Estrada’s lawyers for the court to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) on the forfeiture.

Estrada for President again?
Ousted President Joseph Estrada, who was granted a presidential pardon soon after being convicted for plunder and sentenced to 40 years in prison, has hinted he might be open to running for President in 2010.
“I would be forced to run if the opposition will not unite, and if the people would really want me,” he told reporters during a visit to Navotas and Malabon Wednesday.
